Senior Underwriter Financial Lines

We are currently looking for an Underwriter Financial Lines for our Belgian office.

Reporting to the Head of Underwriter Financial Lines and as part of the Financial Lines team, you are the point of contact for customers and brokers.

In this role, you will analyse, operate autonomously, and engage with external parties such as brokers and clients.

This is where you come in.

You can help MSIG Europe achieve this by:

• Underwriting new profitable business, as well as renewing and managing a portfolio of existing accounts;
• Handling files from A to Z: analysing, assessing, advising and accepting new Financial Lines insurance contracts (e.g. D&O, PI, …) based on our underwriting guidelines;
• Proactively ensuring underwriting quality, both from a technical and a service perspective (timeliness, professional interactions with clients and brokers, solving complex issues);
• Actively contributing to the quantitative and qualitative targets of your Business Unit;
• Building partnerships with brokers and clients through regular visits, presentations, and appropriate support;
• Keeping up to date with market trends, results and commercial opportunities, and taking necessary actions such as contributing to new product development.

What you'll need

• A Master's degree or equivalent experience;
• A proven track record: min 5 years of experience in underwriting, ideally in Financial Lines or a related field;
• Strong product knowledge in insurance, in particular Financial Lines products (such as D&O, Professional Liability, Cyber, …);
• You are results-oriented and can work autonomously as well as in a team;
• You are responsible, enjoy developing your network and have strong commercial skills
• You are curious, eager to develop both your technical and interpersonal skills, and open to change;
• You have excellent communication, negotiation and presentation skills;
• You have excellent verbal and written command of Dutch, French, and English.
